It's not an easy decision to discontinue items in my shop. I make things because I love them and hope my customers do too. But sometimes they just don't sell. And when something sits on the shelf for months and months, that's not good! Also, carrying the bottles, jars or other containers for something that's not selling is simply a huge waste of space and money.
So I've made some decisions to discontinue several items. I'm sure it won't make sense to some people why I've chosen some of the items so I'll do my best to explain.
Small jars. These are cute and handy to take with you when traveling but did you know that these small jars cost me nearly as much as the large jars? So my profit margin on anything in this size jar is much less. MUCH less. And in this economy it's time to tighten my belt! I'll continue to use the large jars for sugar scrubs, Calendula Paste and Arnica. And now the lotion will come in a 4 oz jar too! It's a super thick lotion and difficult to get all the last bits when it's in a bottle. Over the years I've changed from a pump bottle to an upside down bottle and now to a jar. (I'll have them ready soon, getting rid of the lotion in the bottles first!)
I'll keep the small 2 oz bottles as many customers have told me they love them in their purse and on their desks and it's a great travel size.
The solid lotion bars in the roll up tube will be discontinued as well. They seemed to sell well for a short time but overall, not a great seller. And the price of those containers has jumped, so they're out of here when stock is gone. Get them now if you love them!
The incense!! I LOVE the incense. But it is NOT a great seller and must go too. These incense are not like others, they are handmade using high quality materials, but alas, nobody seems to use incense anymore. I'm sure I'll be taking home MY favorites!
I'll also stop making whipped body butters and Goldenrod cream.
