What's in that soap?

pigSoap, real soap. MY soap, has 11 different oils and butters in it. Wonderful ingredients like Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and more!

No, it's not vegan. Sorry to any vegans out there! I do have a soap that IS vegan, the Himalayan Pink Salt soap has only coconut oil, avocado oil, salt, fragrance and color. But my regular soap does have animal fat in it. I use Lard (pig fat) and Tallow (beef fat). Let me tell you why.

I used to make my soaps without any animal fats. Then I started researching about lard and tallow. Then I made a pure tallow soap. Like the old days of soap making! And it was WONDERFUL. So I added tallow to my recipe.

Then I read up on lard. Did you know that when it comes to cellular makeup, lard is incredibly close to human skin. It has a similar pH and is made up of saturated and monounsaturated fats. Lard is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E and Vitamin A.

I have rendered beef tallow myself and let me tell you, it's a lot of work. So I purchase it already rendered. Same goes with lard.

Now if you're vegan and would like soap without tallow, lard or goat milk, just let me know. I can make it for you!

After years and years of these ingredients in my soap recipe, I've found it to be a superior blend compared to what I used to make. Those 11 ingredients are such a perfect combination that I probably will never change that recipe. Oh, I've had to pivot a few times when an ingredient was not available these past years when it was hard to find SO MANY ingredients! But it's back to the original recipe again. And I love it!

Give it a try, I'm sure you'll love it too.
