Do you dry your own herbs? I do. I pick weeds, dandelions, plantain, feverfew, and they must be dried before infusing for whatever creations I need to make.
Today I picked plantain in my yard before I left for work. The lovely leaves were still wet with dew. I thanked them as I popped them off the plant and put them in a plastic bag.
What is the best way to dry my herbs?
So what is the best way to dry them really, really well so you don’t grow mold in your oil infusion? Here’s a tip: dry them in your car. Yep. IN YOUR CAR! Wherever you are this year I’m sure you’re dealing with some warm weather. I put my bag on my dashboard, open it up for maximum exposure and close up that car all day. (lay them out on a paper towel if you like!)
If you have a lot, you will need to spread them out. If you don’t, they should dry in one day. Mine come out super crispy and dry and I never have to heat up the oven or wait weeks for them to dry! Easy peasy.
